Ceramic Lamps

Ceramics and wholesale lamps go together because they can both be manufactured into gorgeous homewares using the same materials. It is a fact that ceramic pottery was used for many millennia before someone thought of the idea of sticking a light bulb inside of it. The word for ceramics comes from an ancient Greek word used to describe pottery. People have been using ceramics for various purposes since the dawn of civilization and probably for some time before that. In many cases exquisitely crafted pottery and ceramics were used to adorn the home. That tradition continues to this day even as we store our beverages in bottles of plastic or glass and cans of aluminium. Since they are so time tested ceramic homewares have a place in a traditional decorating scheme such as country cottage or cultural inspired looks. To incorporate ceramics into a living space try using lamps, containers, candleholders, boxes or other decorative items.

Table Lamps

Ceramics make a wonderful material for the base of table lamps because they are resistant to high temperatures. In many situations one expects to see ceramic lamps resting on a side table including in hotel suites or in the living room. They create an old timey feeling that is reminiscent of parlour society many decades ago. Now however ceramic lamps are available in many modern motifs, bright colours and interesting patterns. A crackle motif in cream looks like a Roman column but is not one. Ceramic lamps decorated with patterns of flowers, birds or intense hues are another way to go.

Containers

Pottery typically comes in many different styles such as vases, jugs and bowls. These items are ideal for filling with a floral arrangement. They are also strong enough to stand alone on a flat surface like a bench or side table. Try mixing and matching different kinds of ceramic containers on a table to create a centre piece or for serving food and beverages. They look especially charming when paired with a striped or checked table runner to enhance a countryside theme. Another way to use these kinds of ceramic containers is for storing loose ends like key rings, extra buttons or spare change.

Candleholders

A ceramic candleholder is a unique piece that will serve its intended purpose well. There are plenty of metal and glass candleholders available on the market today. But ceramic candleholders are not as commonly seen making them a unique and prized option for decorating. On the dinner table ceramic candlesticks will match the ceramic containers and servingware in a way that is complementary. They can be used in other parts of the home or office and will stand out impressively on a mantelpiece, shelving unit or side table.

Boxes

Another kind of ceramic container is the trinket box. These little treasures are perfect for storing odds and ends or a favourite piece of jewellery. With romantic styles such as ceramic roses and hearts, trinket boxes can be kept on top of a cabinet, shelf or vanity table. There they will make the room more pleasant while making room for organisation. Most women and some men have dozens of tiny objects that would do well to be organised in an attractive box. But the ceramic trinket boxes are so pretty that you do not have to keep anything inside of them.

Decorative Items

There are a seemingly limitless supply of ceramic knick knacks, curios and whatnots that are used to decorate the home and people are always on the look-out for more. A little ceramic frog, owl or song bird makes an excellent gift for the person that already has everything. They are just as likely to be purchased for the purposes of self-improvement if they tickle the fancy of a shopper just right.  They also make fantastic souvenirs for those away from home. Ceramic curios can be mixed into larger displays or table centre pieces along with floral arrangements or candleholders.
